NARA BURNS was born on Venus near the capital of Vesta. She grew up on a farm with her parents and brother JAMES. She joined Exofleet and became a member of Able Squad. She befriended the Neosapien MARSALLA, and in time, grew to love him. Unfortunately, that love has always been unrequented.
NARA BURNS took part in the attacks against JONAS SIMBACCA. At one point she was captured and left to die in a vaccum. MARSALLA rescued her and she soon recovered. She took part in the illegal action to free JT MARSH and as a result, spent a year in jail. She then took part in a recon of Venus. She faked engine trouble and landed on the planet to search for her family. She found her parents graves and caught up with JAMES just as he was about to trade JT MARSH and his buddies for food. She convinced JAMES to accept Exofleet help.
NARA was shocked when MARSALLA betrayed Able Squad during a mission to Mars. She was glad to see he was only bluffing. After that mission, she picked up her brother to shuttle him to a meeting between Exofleet and the homeworld resistance cells. She took part in the long recon of Venus to prepare for an invasion by Exofleet. She grew angry at JAMES when he saved her and not MARSALLA from a Neo ambush. She then risked her life to save her Neo friend. During the battle to retake the planet, she was separated from JAMES and finally found him at VESTA. She grew worried when he was seriously injured in battle. He recovered but died soon afterward while trying to save MARSALLA from some old resistance buddies.
NARA became friends with the pirate HOLLIS and teamed with him to save her squad buddies from some renegade pirates. Later she was promoted and given command of Able Squad. Her first assignment was to lead them on a longterm recon of Mars. During the mission she had to make a judgement call to forbid anyone from searching for the missing RITA TORRES.
During the battle to retake Earth, NARA was one of the few Able Squad members to reach PHAETON'S bunker. It was NARA that fired the shot that killed the Neo leader. After the war, she went back to Venus to rebuild her farm.
(Note: There was a storyline in the second season where NARA was infected with a virus that was turning her into a plant-human hybrid. That storyline was left unresolved, so I left it out so I could have a sense of completeness about her history.)
