NAPPA was one the strongest of the Sayiens. This large balding brute was the frequent partner of VEGETA. Because of his lack of intelligence and less fighting power, NAPPA was in reality VEGETA'S lap dog and would obey him with almost no complaint.
NAPPA accompanied VEGETA on a year long trip to Earth. Along the way, they stopped at the planet ANTELLA, where they accidentally helped a revolution overthrow the corrupt ruler. VEGETA then destroyed the planet. The two then went on their merry way and finally made it to Earth. Their first act was to demolish several blocks of the city they crashed in. Soon after they engaged Earth's heroes in battle. For their first move, NAPPA sent mindless plant warriors called SAIBAMEN to fight the heroes one-on-one. Most of the SAIBAMEN were destroyed but not before one of them performed a kamikaze move that killed YAMCHA.
NAPPA himself then attacked. The brute proved too much for the heroes and two more, CHIAO-TZU and TIEN, died fighting. The survivors were stalemated until VEGETA called a three hour cease fire to wait for GOKU. NAPPA hated stopping the fight and ended up amusing himself by destroying an entire naval attack fleet.
When the cease fire ended, NAPPA resumed the battle and tried to kill GOHAN. PICCOLO intervened and was fatally wounded. NAPPA tried to kill the remaining heroes but GOKU appeared and attacked. He beat NAPPA to a pulp with the KEOKEN ATTACK. NAPPA pleaded with VEGETA for help. VEGETA grabbed his old friend and tossed him into the air. He then blasted NAPPA to dust.
