METAL MINA served as the replacement for CRYSTAL CLAIRE following her sacrifice to save TETSURO'S life. MINA was colder then CLAIRE. She showed open contempt for the human race and would openly disscuss her hatred for the human way of eating. She would sing the praises of CAPSULE ENERGY, saying it was a cleaner form of energy then food.
TETSURO met her when he reboarded the 999 after a two year absence. He was disturbed by her behievor and wondered what was wrong with her. When MAETEL appeared, METAL MINA showed tremendous jealousy over the MAETEL'S beautiful body and tried once to steal it from her using some unknown process. Fortunately, the procedure was interrupted by TETSURO.
METAL MINA disembarked at FINAL ANDROMEDA. There she was shocked to find that CAPSULE ENERGY was made by draining the life force out of humans. She fell in a state of disbelief but snapped out of it in time to catch several rayblasts to the chest. This action saved the lives of TETSURO, MAETEL and others. Everyone thought she was dead, but MINA lived and snuck back onto the 999. When SIREN THE WITCH began absorbing all the mechanized life around the planet, MINA threw herself into the void to save all onboard 999. Sadly, no one knew about her heroic deed.
(Note: METAL MINA does not appear in the 999 manga. Actress Jaynse Jaude appeared as a nurse in the X-FILES episode "PUSHER". She is one of the voices on Cartoon Network's ED, EDD, & EDDY.)
