LYNN KYLE is MINMEI'S cousin. He is a martial artist, but he hates warfare and has no love for the military. After a fight with his father he disappeared. Everyone thought he was on MACROSS ISLAND during the fold disaster and that he had died. The fact was he went to live with MINMEI'S parents.
When MINMEI visited them after the return of SDF-1, she found KYLE with them. KYLE accompanied her back to the ship. There he began making trouble with his antiwar views. He did however come to the defense of several members of the SDF crew when they were attacked by disgruntled citizens. He starred in a movie with MINMEI called "Little White Dragon".
After the defeat of DOLZA, LYNN KYLE became MINMEI'S manager. Unfortunately he began to drink heavily and to overwork MINMEI. He continued to preach his rabid antiwar views and he even bullied RICK HUNTER into leaving a PROTOCULTURE matrix in the hands of a civilian defense group. Unfortunately the ZENTRADI were able to easily take the matrix and capture KYLE and MINMEI. They were fortunately rescued by RICK and LISA HAYES.
MINMEI finally grew tired of KYLE'S attitude and left him. She went straight to RICK while KYLE simply vanished. His present whereabouts are unknown.
(Note: LYNN KYLE reappears in the SENTINELS book series but dies soon after. In the Japanese MACROSS 7 series, he manages the singing group Fireball, not to mention other groups as a well.)
