LOW-LIGHT was badly mistreated as a child. His father used to torture him emotionally and in one instance, locked LOW-LIGHT in a dark basement overnight and said he would'nt open the door until the young boy killed twenty rats. As a result of his traumatic experiences, LOW-LIGHT grew up to be a very solemn person who would keep to himself.
He joined G.I.Joe just in time to help stop Cobra from creating SERPENTOR. LOW-LIGHT was part of FLINT'S team which tried to stop the DREADNOKS from taking the DNA of Montezuma.
When DR. MINDBENDER tried to use his nightmare machine on the joes, he attacked LOW-LIGHT using a dream that recreated his father's abuses. LOW-LIGHT fought back and ended up beating the dream. Has it turns out, LOW-LIGHT had the same nightmare for years. The Joes used LOW-LIGHT to help defeat MINDBENDER. As a result of this experience, LOW-LIGHT was able to come to terms with his childhood and the nightmares stopped.
LOW-LIGHT reunited with his sister Una, who was a fashion model. When she was kidnapped by Cobra, he went mad and demanded to in on the rescue mission. He saved her just as her beauty was about to be transfered to an old woman named Madame Veil.
LOW-LIGHT served as baliff in the court martial hearing of LT. FALCON. He is still with the Joes today.
