The headquarters of the G.I.Joe team is located somewhere in the United States. Its exact location has never been disclosed. Sometimes it is shown surronded by desert. Other times it has some grassy areas around it. It has been around since the team started and has always been the main staging ground for all the team's missions.
During the battle for the WEATHER DOMINATOR, the headquarters was battered by constant rain. Also, Storm-Shadow beoke in and stole the Hydro-Master. At the begining of their scheme with the PYRAMID OF DARKNESS, Cobra used the satellite Delta to burn down the headquarters. For most of the mission, the Joes had to run their operations from the USS FLAG. the base was repaired although the roof suffered minor damage when a chopper carrying BAZOOKA, ALPINE and Quick-Kick crashed through it.
The base was closed down by the SYNTHOIDS posing as the counsel of generals that regulated GIJoe. The Joes broke in and stole several Sky Strikers. The "generals" tried to stop them, but were foiled by DESTRO. The base was taken over by Cobra the following Christmas Eve. They used Joe vehicles to attack a nearby town but were stopped by Joes using Cobra vehicles. DESTRO was held captive at the base after the Joes apprehended him during an attack on a Cobra base. He was freed by BARONESS.
COBRA COMMANDER led an attack on the base that nearly succeeded. It was pushed back by the arrival of SERGEANT SLAUGHTER. The base was attacked twice more, once by B A TS that hid in ambulances brought in by Bree Van Mark. The second time was when Cobra decided to take advantage of the chaos caused by promoting three unworthy Joes to colonel. The first attack was eventually pushed back with the help of a squadron of choppers. The second was stopped by the timely arrival of HAWK.
SERPENTOR was imprisoned in the base following his unsuccessfiull first attempt at the BET. He was freed by the DREADNOKS and PYTHONA and NEMESIS ENFORCER. During the attack three Joes were critically wounded and several were almost killed by organic explosives left by PYTHONA.
The headquarters is still in use at this writing.
(Note: In the comic books, the Joes use two places as their headquarters. The first was an underground base beneath a military base in New Jersey. It was destroyed by an explosion during a Cobra invasion.The second was an underground base in Utah that stayed operational until the comics ended.)
