CAPTAIN HARLOCK is the most infamous space pirate in the universe. He spends his days traveling the sea of stars in his ship, ARCADIA, which was built with the help of his old friend TOCHIRO. Their greatest adventure together had them facing off against the cosmic being WOTAN after the RHINEGOLD was stolen. While those in authority want to capture or kill him (preferably kill), he is idolized by the children of many worlds. A popular mystery tells of how HARLOCK and the ARCADIA appeared centuries before they were brought into being and defeated MISSTRESS PHOTON'S forces in battle.
In recent years, he has played a vital role in the destiny of TETSURO HOSHINO. The first time was when young TETSURO helped a dying TOCHIRO fufill his last request and merge his soul with ARCADIA. HARLOCK visited the grave of his dear friend on the planet HEAVY MELDAR, then he rescued TETSURO from some mechanized roughians in a bar. He tried to convince the young boy to abandon his quest for vengence against COUNT MECHA, but after not being successful, he waited with MAETEL outside the TIME CASTLE for TETSURO to return. HARLOCK followed the young lad to PLANET MAETEL and attacked the machine world as a diversion while TETSURO and MAETEL confronted QUEEN PROMETHIUM.
Two years later, HARLOCK fought off mechanized troops to cover TETSURO'S escape from the planet LA METAAL. He also went to FINAL STATION ANDROMEDA and fought the last of the mechanized army. During the chaos that followed, HARLOCK had a secret meeting with FAUST. FAUST entrusted a locket to him just before he went off to have a final battle with TETSURO. After FAUST died, HARLOCK threw the locket into the void.
CAPTAIN HARLOCK is still journeys through the sea of stars today and it is only a matter of time before he appears again.
(Note: HARLOCK has already appeared several times in the current GE999 manga and makes a cameo in GE999: ETERNAL FANTASY.)
