1ST APPEARANCE: DRAGONBALL: CURSE OF THE BLOOD RUBIES
KING GURUMES was once a wise and just king. One day he found the BLOOD RUBIES. They gave the king a tremendous unending hunger that no amount of food could fill. He ate constantly and became incredibly obese. He also started to collect more BLOOD RUBIES and made his troops ravage the land looking for them. The people protested but he didn't listen.
GURUMES heard about the DRAGONBALLS and sent his two best soldiers, RAVEN & MAJOR DOMO to find them. The two found most of the DRAGONBALLS but also attratched the attention of BULMA and GOKU when they stole GOKU'S DRAGONBALL. The pair followed RAVEN & MAJOR DOMO and confronted the king. BULMA realized he had placed the other DRAGONBALLS in his stomach and tossed the last one in his mouth. This brought out the ETERNAL DRAGON who demanded someone make a wish. The little girl PENNY wished for her home to return to its former beauty. The dragon granted the wish but had to remove the BLOOD RUBIES to do so. This returned the king to his normal state and his hunger was cured by an apple.
(Note: KING GURUMES was part of an alternate universe tale and has yet to appear in the main DRAGONBALL universe.)
