GALVATRON was createdby UNICRON when MEGATRON agreed to destroy the MATRIX. He was given a new body and those Decepticons that were wounded were rebuilt into CYCLONUS and SCROUNGE and the SWEEPS. He was given a powerful laser cannon. He was given the ability to transform into a giant laser cannon. His first act was to go to CYBERTRON and kill STARCREAM. He disintegrated the traitor with one shot and took back leadership of the Decepticons.
He led an attack on the Autobots and ended up dogging them all the way to CYBERTRON. He lost them when ULTRA MAGNUS tricked him into destroying a jetisoned part of the Autobot shuttle. UNICRON punished him for his failure and sennt him to the planet JUNK. There, GALAVATRON stole the MATRIX Aand decicded to use it against UNICRON. He ended being swallowed by UNICRON. Inside he battled HOT ROD, who retrieved the MATRIX and became RODIMUS PRIME. GALVATRON was tossed into space and ended up on a planet of molten rock. He was rescued by CYCLONUS a year later. The experience left him mentally unstable. CYCLONUS tried to get him help but failed.
GALVATRON once convinced RODIMUS PRIME he had a doomsday weapon. RODIMUS realized that he was bluffing and defeated him. Another time he used a woman who was a member of race of singers as a weapon. He was brainwashed by the QUINTESSONS during their scheme to get the JUNKIONS to go to war with the universe.
GALVATRON ended up alone when the HATE PLAGUE struck. He teamed with a revived OPTIMUS PRIME to find a cure. He betrayed him at the last minute and was infected. While infected he almost killed PRIME again but was stopped by the MATRIX. Afterward he declared a temporary truce saying PRIME had earned his respect.
GALVATRON teamed up with the Hive on Nebulos to attcak the Autobots. They were defeated and the victory brought CYBERTRON back to the golden age. GALVATRON meanwhile has gone back to the planet CHARR to plan more schemes to conquer the universe.
(Note: GALVATRON died in the Japanese HEADMASTERS cartoon. In the comics, he was ruler of an alternate Earth. He died fighting Fotress Maximus.)
