DR BAN is the father of MAETEL and former husband to QUEEN PROMETHIUM. At an unknown point in time he was thought to have died. In reality he transferred his mind into a locket that MAETEL wears around her neck. The two then secretly plotted to end the Machine Empire
DR BAN sereved as a voice of guideance for his daughter during her journeys aboard 999. When she met TERTSURO, she had nagging doubts which BAN helped dispell. Meanwhile, the locket was programmed to act as the trigger that would cause the core of the Machine Empire's homeworld to explode. When the moment of truth came, PROMETHIUM was shocked to find DR BAN alive. MAETEL ended up heistating so BAN had to turn to TETSURO for help. TETSURO grabbed the locket and hurled it into the planet core. The locket did it's job and the planet was destroyed. Unfortunately, DR BAN died as a result. At least he achieved his dream of tearing apart his ex-wife's evil empire.
