CLAUDIA GRANT enlisted in the RDF with her brother Vince and trained to become part of the crew of SDF-1. While training, she roomed with LISA HAYES. The two became friends and often times CLAUDIA'S cheerful nature acted as balance to LISA'S rather by-the-book military style of attitude. CLAUDIA was also befriended by ROY FOKKER. He had the reputation of being a ladies man and she didn't want to have anything to do with him. It wasn't until he called her one night that she realized he was actually a sweet guy looking for a serious relationship. The two started dating and soon became an inseperable couple.
CLAUDIA was present on Inaugration Day when the Zentradi attacked for the first time. After the ship became stranded at the other side of the solar system, CLAUDIA helped with relocating the residents of MACROSS ISLAND to inside the ship. There were times she and ROY could'nt see each other due to their busy schedules. They did however, take time out to get together and listen to MINMEI'S singing debut. After the SDF landed back on Earth, CLAUDIA payed a visit to ROY'S quarters and cheered him up after he was feeling tired from overwork.
Tragedy struck when ROY died from wounds he suffered in combat. CLAUDIA mourned but she soon recovered and went back to work. She did miss ROY but she did not let it effect her job. When LISA began having trouble getting RICK HUNTER'S attention, CLAUDIA gave numerous pieces of advise. She even told her the story of how she got together with ROY.
CLAUDIA was killed when KHYRON made a kamikaze attack on the SDF-1 and SDF-2. Her courageous spirit does live on in the form of her brother Vince, his wife, and their son BOWIE GRANT, who served under DANA STERLING in the battle against the ROBOTECH MASTERS.
(Note: CLAUDIA'S name in the Japanese version is Claudia LaSalle. She does not die in the Japanese version. Her brother Vince appears in the SENTINELS book series.)
