1ST APPEARANCE: DRAGONBALL: "OX-KING OF FIRE MOUNTAIN"
CHI-CHI is the daughter of the OX-KING. As a child she wore a skimpy battle outfit and a helmet with a removable cresent moon she could throw at her enemies. When her father's castle was blocked off by a huge wall of flame, she went off to find MASTER ROSHI and borrow the banjo fan to use it to put out the flames. Along the way she met YAMCHA and PUAR. Their meeting ended with CHI-CHI getting knocked unconcious. When she awoke, she ran into GOKU, who had just come from meeting the OX-KING and agreeing to find MASTER ROSHI and CHI-CHI. The two joined together and succeeded in finding MASTER ROSHI. They couldn't get the fan, but ROSHI used his KAMEHAMEHA WAVE to put out the flames.
CHI-CHI stayed with her father, but she had become smittened with GOKU. They met again at the WORLD MARTIAL ARTS TOURNAMENT and got married the same day and later had a son named GOHAN. CHI-CHI had settled into the role of housewife and had let her fighting skills dull. Futhermore, she did not want GOHAN to follow in her husband's footsteps and become a fighter.
Unfortunately, fate stepped in. One day while GOKU was fishing, the family was attacked by the henchmen of GARLIC JR. CHI-CHI tried to fight them off but was defeated. They kidnapped GOHAN but GOKU managed to save him. A short while later, GOHAN was kidnapped by RADITZ. GOKU saved him but at the cost of his own life. Also, PICCOLO took the boy so he could train him to fight the Sayains, who were a year away from attacking Earth. CHI-CHI freaked when she heard the news. For the rest of the year she was in a constant state of worry over her son.
When the day of the great battle arrived, she was with of a group of friends that watched the battle on television. When she saw GOHAN in danger, she fainted several times and at one point, had to be restrained before she was about to go out into the battlefield herself. She went with BULMA, MASTER ROSHI,CORRIN, and others to retrieve the survivors and tend to their wounds.
When GOHAN wanted to go to with BULMA on her search for the planet NAMEK, CHI-CHI was adament that he stay but BULMA promised to keep him safe. CHI-CHI contented herself with having to take care of an incapacitated GOKU and tried repeatedly to not let him leave his bed to train. Eventually however, GOKU recovered with the help of some SENZU BEANS and set off to go to NAMEK. CHI-CHI then moved to the labs at CAPSULE CORP to be in constant contact with the NAMEK expedition.
After GOHAN triumphiantly return from NAMEK, CHI-CHI made him go back to his studies and several times tried unsuccessfully to keep him from fighting. the first time was when GARLIC JR returned. Then FREEZA came to Earth followed closely by the appearance of TRUNKS and the return of her husband from deep space.
CHI-CHI was placed again in a state of panic when GOHAN joined his father in opposing the Androids and then CELL. She freaked when GOKU died again and said that he didn't want to be brought back. Eventually she calmed down.
CHI-CHI later gave birth to another son named GOTEN. After hearing that GOKU was returning to live for one day, she allowed her two sons to enter alongside him into the WORLD MARTIAL ARTS TOURNAMENT. She was overjoyed to see GOHAN making friends with VIDEL and hoped the two would hit it off and get married.
CHI-CHI was killed by MAJIN BUU when the pink creature turned her into an egg and smashed her.. However, she and others who were BUU'S victims were brought back the NAMEKIAN DRAGONBALLS. She currently lives a peaceful existence with her newly resurrected husband and family.
