BATTLEPODS are the most widely used type of mecha used by the Zentradi. Standard BATTLE PODS are oval shaped with two legs and a pair of laser turrets coming out of the top plus two more in back and a third pair located at the bottom. A variation on the standard model can carry missile launchers for added firepower. It can move by either hoping on the ground, or by flying through use of thrusters on the bottom of the feet. BATTLE PODS are not that powerful and have minimal shields. The typical pod can be destroyed with one good shot.
Another type of BATTLEPOD is the officer's model. It is shaped differently than the standard pod.It also has two arms with double barreled cannons on the ends. It also hasa cannon on the top instead of two small lasers. The officer's pod is used by Zentradi commanders who prefer to go out into the battlefield themsleves rather then to command from the ship. KHYRON enjoys uses his BATTLEPOD a great deal and rarely goes into battle without it.
A third type of BATTLEPOD is the recon model. These used for scouting missions and posses no weapons and the weakest armor of all the types. EXEDORE used a recon model on his visit to the SDF-1 to arrange a truce.
The only humans ever to pilot a BATTLEPOD are LISA HAYES and Vermillion Squadron. They procured a BATTLEPOD while escaping from Zentradi custody.
