BIG LOB is part of a training group called the Rawhides. He became friends with fellow Rawhide TUNNEL RAT. The Rawhides all had their training excellerated so they could bolster G.I.JOE'S ranks during they're battle against COBRA-LA. BIG LOB and TUNNEL RAT were made to run an impossible obstacle course by Beach-Head. BIG LOB ran straight through the course, pushing himself by pretending it was just a sporting event and making colorful commentary. He eventually made it to the other side and passed the test.
When DUKE revealed he was FALCON'S half-brother during the latter's court matrial hearing, BIG LOB sided with TUNNEL RAT in saying that DUKE should not go to bat for FALCON.
BIG LOB and JINX tried to jury rig a Tomahawk so the Rawhides could join in the fight to protect the B.E.T. They arrived on time but were shot down. When DUKE tried to go rescue FALCON following a crash, BIG LOB tried to follow but was cut off by an exploding fuel line.
Like the rest of the Rawhides, BIG LOB was left behind when the Joes went to attack COBRA-LA. He joined the Rawhide's attempt to save the Joes after they were captured. In the rescue attempt, several Joes snuck into COBRA-LA through a lake and stole some copters. BIG LOB took point and was spotted by DR. MINDBENDER. He was shot down, but at the last minute aimed his flaming ride at the CARNO TREE, thus freeing the trapped Joes. In the aftermath of the battle, BIG LOB and TUNNEL RAT danced around wildly to celebrate their victory.
