POWERS: nigh invunerability, super strength, ability to leap onto tall buildings

The TICK is the greatest hero ever known to the residents of THE CITY. This big blue ball of justice has been the staunchest defender of the peace loving denizens.

And how did he get his start? Well, it all started at the NATIONAL ANNUAL SUPERHERO CONVENTION. There the TICK dropped in unannounced and impressed the judges by surviving a big STEEL BOX intact. He was assigned THE CITY as his base. Upon arrival, his sidekick, ARTHUR, litteraly fell into his lap. Together they stopped the IDEA MEN from threatening to blow up the dam. Thus began their partnership.

In the following months, TICK has battled countless villians and teamed with countless heroes, including AMERICAN MAID, DIE FLEDERMAUS, and SEWER URCHIN. In one adventure, TICK was punched into orbit by PROTO-CLOWN. After a spiritual journey through his mind, TICK came back down to Earth and defeated PROTO-CLOWN. One time TICK and ARTHUR had a falling out because TICK maxed out all the credit cards. For awhile the hero sulked, but the threat of the evil TERROR, drew him out of his stupor. He and ARTHUR reconciled.

Awhile later, TICK made new sidekick named LITTLE WOODEN BOY when ARTHUR started spending time with CARMELITA. Together, they saved the two lovebirds (or moths as the case may be) from SWISS INDUSTRIAL SPIES. LITTLE WOODEN BOY sacrificed his life saving everyone from BLOWHOLE. However TICK and ARTHUR renewed their partnership.

TICK was thought dead when a bomb exploded while he was on mission to fix some lunar graffitti. After months, it was revealed he lived and that he spent all that time with the galactic being OMNIPOTUS. When the giant alien tried to eat Earth, TICK convinced him not to and told him he could instead take a small bite out of the moon. Months later, TICK teamed with the WHAT to go to the edge of the universe and stop the HEY from destroying everything.

TICK took part in the superhero exchange program and went to Belgium. There he teamed with BLITZEN to stop the mad plans of OCTO PAGANINI and the EASTERN BLOC ROBOT COWBOY. Later he taught a class on superheroing. TICK and his students stopped a plan to replace UNCLE CREAMY with an evil counterpart.

The TICK is still one of, if not the greatest hero, THE CITY can count on to give crime a giant spanking. "SPOON!!!!!!!!!!!"
