1ST APPEARANCE: TRANSFORMERS: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE
(DESTROYED)

The ARK was created to transport several Autobot warriors led by OPTIMUS PRIME on a mission to search for energy sources. The ship was ambushed by Decepticons under MEGATRON. The battle caused the ship to crash into a volcano located on prehistoric Earth.

Millions of years later, the volcano became active for a short time. This activated the ARK'S computer, TELETRAN-1. It set out and repaired all aboard. Unfortunately,This meant the Decepticons functioned as well as the Autobots. The ARK was unable to become flightworthy again. OPTIMUS had it changed into the Autobots base on Earth. The first humans to visit the ARK were SPIKE and his father. As the years went by, other humans were also allowed into the base.

The ARK was almost destroyed when the volcano became active thanks to the chaotic weather caused by the orbit of CYBERTRON. IRONHIDE risked his life and stopped the volcano. Later, the ARK was nearly invaded by the CONSTRUCTICONS. They were chased out by the DINOBOTS.

The ARK was abandoned when the Autobots went into exile following a frame up engineered by the Decepticons. It was reclaimed shortly after. Has time went by, more was built into the ARK and it soon honeycombed the volcano.

By 2005, the ARK was replaced as the main Earth base by METROPLEX. It was still in use though. Unfortunately a year later it was demolished when the volcano was crushed by TRYPTICON.

(Note: The ARK does become spaceworthy again in the comics. Unfortunately, it crashes again in the penultimate issue of the first series and it is destroyed in GENERATION 2's second issue. In the BEAST WARS cartoon, the ARK appears several times and the volcano it is stuck in� is used as a base by the Maximals.)
