1ST APPEARANCE: TRANSFORMERS: KEY TO VECTOR SIGMA
The AERILBOTS were created to counteract MEGATRON'S STUNTICONS. They are composed of SILVERBOLT, AIR RAID, SKYDIVE, SLINGSHOT, and FIREFLIGHT. They were made from old Cybertronian shuttles and given life by VECTOR SIGMA. Their creation came with a heavy price, in order to activate VECTOR SIGMA, ALPHA TRION had to sacrifice his life. The AERILBOTS can merge to form SUPERION, the first Autobot GESTALT.
The AERILBOTS fought a quick battle with their rivals, the STUNTICONS. During the fight, SILVERBOLT discovered he had a fear of heights because he was made from a low altitude cargo shuttle. OPTIMUS PRIME made him AERILBOT leader in order to keep his mind off his fear. SILVERBOLT helped to keep the other AERILBOTS in line and he eventually got over his fears when he chased MEGATRON down in order to destroy the Key to Vector Sigma, which the Decepticon leader was using to transform the planet Earth.
The AERILBOTS later went on a mission to CYBERTRON. There, they were tricked into entering a time portal and ended up nine million years in the past. They met a robot named Orion Pax, who was enamored of the Decepticons. He was tricked by MEGATRON and left for dead. The AERILBOTS took him to a young ALPHA TRION. He rebuilt Pax into OPTIMUS PRIME. The AERILBOTS then tried to sacrifice their lives in an attempt to blow up a factory to keep it out of Decepticon hands. They were luckily saved by a time portal which brought them back to their proper era.
SLINGSHOT and SKYDIVE went undercover in the Middle East to catch a plane smuggling ring. They were aided by a boy named Hassan. They found out the plan was created by MEGATRON and a bandit that wanted to depose a monarch named Prince Jamal. The other AERILBOTS appeared and the plan was fouled. SLINGSHOT worried that Prince Jamal would be angry because Hassan had used his car as spare parts to repair him. Fortunately, it turns out Hassan was the prince in disguise.
In 2006, the AERILBOTS rescued several Autobots from the destruction of QUINTESSA. The explosion hurled the group to the planet GOO. There they battled a� garbage collector and then Decepticons. They were rescued by WRECK-GAR. The AERILBOTS later went to the Mid-East nation of Carbombya to attack TRYPTICON. They had to retreat when the other Decepticons arrived but came back with reinforcements. Another time, they had a rematch with TRYPTICON in which the dinosaur managed to wound AIR RAID but was knocked out by SILVERBOLT firing missles into his mouth.�
The AERILBOTS were sent in to investigate why the JUNKIONS had attacked SKY LYNX. They found a QUINTESSON ship in orbit that was broadcasting subminal messages to incite the JUNKIONS to wage war on anything they saw. The AERILBOTS formed SUPERION and attacked. They were knocked out but they managed to damage the ship's transmitter. Unfortunately, the broken transmitter broadcast a message for the JUNKIONS to share they're knowledge with other races. The JUNKIONS then broadcasted the war message all over the galaxy nearly starting an interstellar war.
The AERILBOTS were among the first infected by the HATE PLAGUE. As SUPERION, they severly wounded many Autobots and infected the PROTECTOBOTS. They were cured along with the rest of the infected when a newly reborn OPTIMUS PRIME used the MATRIX.
The AERILBOTS were among the first ones to fight off a major Decepticon invasion. Unfortunately, they were all shot down by Sixshot and captured by the Decepticons. They were later rescued thanks to the Autobot HEADMASTERS
(Note: SKYDIVE plays a major role at the begining� of the GENERATION 2 comic. Sadly, in the last issue, SLINGSHOT is killed battling the Swarm.)
