| ULTRA MAGNUS VOICE ACTOR: Robert Stack (movie) Jack Angel (tv series) ALLEGIANCE: Autobots FUNCTION: City Commander 1ST APPEARANCE: TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE The history of ULTRA MAGNUS is unknown. Prior to 2005, he was chosen by OPTIMUS PRIME to commander of AUTOBOT CITY. He is well respected by his troops and is known to be a very competent leader. However, he does not consider himself a leader, just a soldier doing his duty. Nevertheless, he led the AUTOBOTS in holding out against the Decepticons when they attacked the city in 2005. After OPTIMUS was mortally wounded fighting MEGATRON, he tried to give ULTRA MAGUNS the MATRIX. MAGNUS refused but soon changed his mind when PRIME told him he was just as unworthy to hold the MATRIX as MAGNUS. ULTRA MAGNUS led the Autobots in fleeing Autobot City to get to CYBERTRON to stop UNICRON. Along the way, his ship crashed on the planet JUNK. While trying to save his crew, ULTRA MAGNUS was blown to bits by GALVATRON, who then stole the MATRIX. Fortunately, HOT ROD made peace with JUNK'S natives, the JUNKIONS. They repaired MAGNUS. He then went with PERCEPTOR aboard the Jukion's ship during the attack on UNICRON. the ship was destroyed but MAGNUS and the others survived.Meanwhile, HOT ROD retrieved the MATRIX and became the new leader, RODIMUS PRIME. ULTRA MAGNUS became his second in command. MAGNUS was captured by the QUINTESSONS alongwith KUP and SPIKE. RODIMUS rescued them but soon after, MAGNUS helped lead the Autobots in defending CYBERTRON from a Decepticon invasion. ULTRA MAGNUS was shortly after abducted by a QUINTESSON who wanted to experiment on him. MAGNUS teamed with the Junkion, WRECK-GAR, the Decepticon, CYCLONUS, and the human MARISSA FAIRBORNE, to escape. Afterwards, all went their seperate ways. MAGNUS was one of the Autobots who had his essence transfered to a cloned human body. He and SPRINGER infiltrated a gang that stole their Transformer bodies and helped stop an their plan to attack AUTOBOT CITY. MAGNUS was also the leader of an expedition to a planet filled with harmonic energy. WHEELIE and DANIEL once tried to surprise MAGUNS by throwing a birthday party. MAGNUS returned to the postion of leader when HOT ROD lost the MATRIX in battle and didn't want it back. MAGNUS led the Autobots against a possessed SCOURGE until HOT ROD came to his senses. ULTRA MAGNUS was one of the first infected by the HATE PLAGUE. He chased RODIMUS back to METROPLEX. He missed RODIMUS but infected WRECK-GAR who then infected RODIMUS. MAGNUS was then cured when the ressurected OPTIMS PRIME used the power of the MATRIX. ULTRA MAGNUS then returned to is old job as second in command under OPTIMUS. ULTRA MAGNUS helped led an effort to stop a Decepticon attack on AUTOBOT CITY. When the Decepticons moved the battle to CYBERTRON, ULTRA MAGNUS was charged by PRIME with defending the planet. Unfortunately, MAGNUS was overwhelmed and he and his forces were captured and stripped of their power bays. Before the Autobots could shut down, the HEADMASTERS arrived and SPIKE was successful in re-energizing CYBERTRON. This saved the lives of MAGNUS and his fellow Autobots. (Note: ULTRA MAGNUS is featured in the Japanese movie prequel Scramble City. He dies in the Headmasters cartoon. A diferent charcater with the same name is part of the cast in the cartoon, Robots in Disguise. Actor Robert Stack is famous as the host of Unsolved Mysteries and for his performance as Captain Rex Kramer in the movie Airplane.
