| RATCHET VOICE ACTOR: Don Messick ALLEGIANCE: Autobot FUNCTION: medic 1ST APPEARNCE: TRANSFORMERS: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE (DECEASED) RACHET was the medical officer chosen by OPTIMUS PRIME to be part of the team he organizing to leave CYBERTRON and go off in search of new energy sources. Like the rest of his fellow Autobots, RATCHET was deactivated by the Autobot ship, the ARK, crashlanding into a volcano on Earth. When the Autobots were revived millions of years later, RATCHET was given the ability to transform into an Earth style ambulance. Not only was RATCHET in charge of repairing Autobots, he also patnered with Wheeljack on many of his projects. For example; RATCHET was part of plan to build the DINOBOTS. RATCHET also helped repair PRIME after the latter was defeated in battle with MEGATRON. RATCHET was also part of the effort to save SPIKE after he was injured in an attck and needed to have his mind transfered into a robot body while his real one was being healed. By 2005, RATCHET was part of the Autobot force stationed on two of CYBERTRON'S moons in an effort to free CYBERTRON from Decepticon rule. RATCHET was part of IRONHIDE'S shuttle crew. When the Decepticons attacked, RATCHET pulled out two blasters and he and IRONHIDE fought back. Unfortunately, RATCHET was then gunned down and killed. His body was put to rest in a floating mausoleum along with those of other Autobots killed during the war. It was destroyed when the structure was plunged into a star in plan to kill a group of Autobots that had taked refuge inside to hide from an attack. (Note: RATCHET was voiced by the late Don Messick, an actor who worked on many cartoons for Hanna-Barbera. His most famous characters were Scooby-Doo and the Jetson's dog Astro.
