| THE ROOF OF THE WORLD LOCATION: Artic 1ST APPEARENCE: G.I.JOE: REVENGE OF COBRA THE ROOF OF THE WORLD is a mountain in the Artic with a large hole in the center that leads to plateau. The only known way to get to the plateau is to travel through the sluce ways. The sluce ways are caverns of ice formed by hot springs. The path can be dangerous and any wrong moves could result in travelers being trapped inside. During the battle for the fragments of the WEATHER DOMINATOR, the Laser Core fell into the plateau. DESTRO lead a team of Cobras to retrieve the fragment. Cobra used a giant drill to burrow their way in. FLINT led the Joe team's attempt. the Joes used the Sluce tunnels by making their way on sleds provided by SNOW JOB. Both Joe and Cobra arrived at the same time and engaged in strange Hockey game style battle for teh fragment. Meanwhile, ZARTAN and the DREADNOKS climbed the side of the mountain and used special bikes to drive down the side and steal the Laser core from both parties. ZARTAN then offered to give the fragment to whoever payed his price. To cover his escape, he triggered an avanlache. DESTRO and his forces escape in RATTLERS while LADY JAYE cut through the ice using a diamond tipped javelin. Since that battle, THE ROOF OF THE WORLD has remained undisturbed.
