PHAETON CITY
LOCATION: PHAETON CITY is the name given by the Neo-Sapiens to the city once known as Chicago.

The mayor of Chicago had wanted to make peace with the Neos and made Chicago sister city to the Neo capital on Mars. Neo leader, PHAETON attended a ceremony honoring the occasion and was almost assasinated. He was saved by police officer SEAN NAPIER. A short time later, PHAETON let his true colors show and took over the homeworlds. He made Chicago his capital and renamed it PHAETON CITY.

SEAN NAPIER became leader of a resistence movement and as his first act, led a raid on a human registration facility. The resistence then made another attack on the Neos during a rally at Wrigely Field. This attempt was helped by members of Able Squad and was a resounding success. In the years that followed, PHAETON CITY became the battle ground for a guerilla war between the Neos and SEAN NAPIER'S resistence. One skrimish had the resistence freeing their leader from prison while Able Squad members snuck aboard a transport to Venus.

Two notable battles took place underground. The first was when the Neos used a NEO-MEGA has bait to follow the resistence to its headquaters. A firefight brke out but the resistence managed to escape. PHAETON then took their headquarters to use as his personal bunker. The next conflict occured when MARSALA was used as the triggerman in a plot by the NEO-MEGAS to kill PHAETON. The resistence caught wind of the plot and rescued MARASALA when the plan failed.

During the battle to retake Earth, PHAETON CITY was bombarded from orbit by Exofleet. After the shelling stopped, the resistence came marched into the city using a convoy of stolen tanks. Able Squad also landed followed shortly thereafter by WOLF BRONSKI and several jump troops. The whole force soon converged outside the door to PHAETON'S bunker and battled the clones and NEO-LORDS defending it. MARSALA, NARA BURNS, & KAZ TAKAGI all made it into the bunker itself where they joined JT MARSH in killing PHAETON and ending the war.

After the war ended, PHAETON CITY was changed in name back into Chicago.
