| MACBETH VOICE ACTOR: John Rhys-Davies RACE: immortal human OCCUPATION: (former) King of Scotland, (current) Pro-Gargoyle activist 1ST APPEARENCE: GARGOYLES: ENTER MACBETH MACBETH was born in Scotland almost a thousand years to the Steward of Moray and was the cousin of PRINCE DUNCAN. His father was killed before his eyes by the HUNTER. He later fell in love with a woman named GRUOCH, however she was promised to GILLECOMGAIN, the new Steward of Moray. DUNCAN told him GILLECOMGAIN was the HUNTER and MACBETH attacked. During the battle, GRUOCH was in danger and MACBETH put himself in danger as well when he tried to rescue her. They were saved when DEMONA swooped in and joined the fight. GILLECOMGAIN plunged to his death and MACBETH took back his father's title and married GRUOCH. MACBETH found out DUNCAN had ordered his father's death. He raised an army and sought DEMONA as an ally. The two were then tied together by a spell cast by the WEIRD SISTERS so that their lives were intertwined. DUNCAN died in battle and MACBETH became King of Scotland. He pledged eternal friendship to the Gargoyles. However, years later, CANMORE, son of DUNCAN, attacked with British help. MACBETH'S father-in-law thougth cutting off ties with the Gargoyles would help but MACBETH refused. DEMONA didnt hear that and the Gargoyle allowed CANMORE to triumph. CANMORE then apparently slew both MACBETH and DEMONA, but the spell was made so that one could die unless killed by the other. At the urging of GRUOCH, MACBETH fled Scotland. He spent the next several hundred years tracking DEMONA. He also amassed a huge fortune and studied magic. In the 1990s, MACBETH encountered GOLIATH and his clan when he tracked DEMONA to New York. Their fisrt battle ended with MACBETH losing. He then tried to steal the SCROLLS OF MERLIN only to find out they were his diary. He let GOLIATH take the SCROLLS back. When DEMONA cast a spell to turn all humans to stone at night, MACBETH disguised himself as a HUNTER and gave chase. Their battle ended when the WEIRD SISTERS appeared and whisked them away. Under their control, MACBETH and DEMONA stole all the mystical items under GOLIATH'S protection. They then fought in service of the ARCHMAGE when he attacked AVALON. During the battle, MACBETH fought and was defeated by his hero, KING ARTHUR PENDRAGON. At battle's end, the WEIRD SISTERS sent MACBETH and DEMOINA away, free from their control and with no memory of what happened. MACBETH ended up in Paris, France where he fell in love with a woman named DOMINIC. On the evening of their wedding, MACBETH found out she really the human form of DEMONA. The marriage was planned by THAILOG in order so that the two eternal enemies could kill each other and he could get all their money. The plan failed when ELISA MAZA shot them with a blaster. Both survived and MACBETH had the marriage annuled. He was heartbroken by the events but GOLIATH and ELISA cheered him up. MACBETH returned to New York where he fought KING ARTHUR for Excalibur. At first it looked as though MACBETH had won the sword but his turned out to be fake. ARTHUR found the real sword within the ruby heart of a stoen dragon. MACBETH acknowledged ARTHUR as the one true king but refused to serve him. He did promise however, to come to his aide when called. MACBETH has since made peace with the Gargoyles and even came to their defense in a live televised debate against MARGOT YALE. All MACBETH has to do now is whait for the moment he can put an end to the feud with DEMONA once and for all.
