| LEONA VOICE ACTOR: Toni Barry OCCUPATION: Tank Police Tank Driver for Bonaparte, (former) motor bike cop BASE: Headquaters for the Newport City Police 1ST APPEARANCE: DOMINION TANK POLICE LEONA started out as bike cop partnered with CHARON. The two became best friends and soon became known for pulling outragous stunts to apprhend crooks. It was as a bike cop that LEONA acquired her love of machines. She soon transferred out of the motorcycle division and into the Tank Police. She became the first female to join them. Captain BRETON opposed the move especially when she totaled his TIGER SPECIAL on her mission. LEONA did befriend AL and the two built the mini-tank BONAPARTE out of the remains of the TIGER SPECIAL. The two tracked down BUAKU and with BRETON ended up in a standoff with BUAKU, the PUMA TWINS, and the evil "BOSS". The situation was resolved when someone sneezed and LEONA freaked and blasted a hole in the roof. BUAKU and the TWINS escaped and THE BOSS died. LEONA later destroyed some of MAYOR WEATHERBY'S paperwork when the latter visited police headquarters to rag on them for their methods. LEONA soon accustomed to the Tank Police lifestyle and became as wild and crazy as the rest. She also started to develop a weird attachment to BONAPARTE. Soon after, she was captured by BUAKU who was trying to escape with a painting of himself. The two soon put their differences aside to escape pursuit by the RED COMMANDOS. The two were saved by both the Tank Police and BUAKU'S gang. Immediately after LEONA and AL fought BUAKU for control of the artificial being GREENPEACE. During the battle, BONAPARTE was destroyed. LEONA was devastated until the Tank Police built her a new one. Sometime later, LEONA and AL fought a running battle against the fake HAGASHINADA and his SPIDER TANK. The two beat the tank by using weapons the mayor had banned. Soon after, LEONA found out CHARON was killed while undercover. She quit and went to track down her killer. She followed the clues to DYNIPON GYNKEN, where she fell into the clutches of MUELLER, hwo wanted to turn her into a mindless cyborg slave. AL and BRETON rescued her and MUELLER went to jail. She then risked to life and limb to stop a runaway truck by shutting it down from the inside. She then went after the PUMA TWINS for stealing BONAPARTE. During the chaos caused by a citywide crime spree, LEONA followed a tip by the PUMA TWINS to a recently escaped MUELLER. She tried to catch him but was stopped first when he took a hostage, then when she broke off pursuit to get MAYOR WEATHERBY to the hospital. MUELLER later apparently commited suicide. LEONA was part of the effort to protect the hospitalized mayor. She followed a group of signals to an American consulate building. She saw a car leave and recognized the passenger as MUELLER'S boss, COLDSMAN. She followed to just outside an airbase when he stopped the car. COLDSMAN stood ther as LEONA stopped BONAPARTE and ran towards him. AL noticed COLDSMAN'S assistent KEREOKA had a gun and took the bullet for LEONA. LEONA was shocked but AL spurred her on to catch up to COLDSMAN at the airbase. At first it looked like he got away, but LEONA emptied an entire machine gun clip into the air and managed to get a wing. The plane carrying COLDSMAN then exploded. AL meanwhile passed out. Fortunately, he was able to get to a hospital and has since recovered. LEONA and AL still patrol NEWPORT CITY today. (Note: LEONA also appears in the TANK POLICE mangas.)
