| JET BLACK VOICE ACTOR: BEAU BILLINGSLEA OCCUPATION: (former) member of the ISSP (current) bounty hunter BASE OF OPERATIONS: mobile abroad the BEBOP 1ST APPEARENCE: COWBOY BEBOP: ASTEROID BLUES JET BLACK started out his adult life as a cop in the ISSP. He was good at his job and earned the nickname "Black Dog" based on his tenacity. He had a girlfriend named ELISA but she left him. While chasing a suspect named UDAI TAXIM, Jet lost his left arm when he was fired on with a bazooka. He gained a robotic replacement and left the ISSP. He bought a ship called the BEBOP and became a bounty hunter. He remianed friends with some his old cop buddies, namely DONNALEY and BOB, and would use them to get information. He met and befriended SPIKE SPIEGAL, a former member of the Syndicate. The two became partners. JET was not fond of some of SPIKE'S oddities and was especially worried about his obssesion with his old life. The two eventually were joined by con woman FAYE VALENTINE and hacker EDWARD. JET returned to Ganymede to bring in a bounty and reunited with ELISA. He then discovered her new boyfriend RHINT was wanted for murder. Despite her protests, he brought the man in. JET found out ELISA left him because she thought he was overprotective. JET had another run in with his past when he partnered with an old friend named FAD to bring UDAI TAXIM. He learned from TAXIM that it was FAD who shot him. FAD killed UDAI for takling and JET shot FAD dead. Awhile later, JET was shot in the leg while in a shootout with some Syndicate men. He got teh leg bandaged but the BEBOP was damaged in a dogfight. JET stayed behind to repair it and urged SPIKE to track down JULIA. SPIKE found her but she was killed in a shootout. JET spoke to SPIKE one last time when he came back to the BEBOP one more time just before storming Syndicate headquarters for a final fight with VICIOUS. SPIKE died in the battle. What happened to JET in the mean time is unknown. (Note: Beau Billingslea can be heard in the Gundam series 0083. He is also a voice actor in Ruroni Kenishin, Macross Plus, Cyborg 009, and the Manga Video version of Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro. He can be seen in several episodes of the series Family Law.)
