| HAVOC MANUFACTUTED BY: United States military for use by G.I.Joe 1ST APPEARENCE: G.I.JOE: ARISE, SERPENTOR, ARISE The HAVOC was created around 1986 for use by the GIJoe team as armored assault vehicle. The name stands for Heavy Assault Vehicle Ordnance Carrier. It is armed primarily with two large cannons in the midsection. The cannons can fire either powerful laser blasts or rockets. It also was armed with four missiles at the rear walls which could fired at opponents coming from behind. For protection up front, the HAVOC came with two small laser cannons below the driver's cabin. The HAVOC could either be driven by two drivers laying on their stomachs in the driver's cabin or by a single driver on a seat in between the heavy cannons. The most surprising feature of the vehicle is a small one-man fan powered scout craft that emerges from the rear. The scout craft is armed with two small cannons and can float several feet above the ground. The Joe known as CROSS-COUNTRY became well known for driving his HAVOC with a tape deck installed for playing country music. The HAVOC was first used as part of the convoy that went to protect Napoleon's tomb. They never got to see action due to the protests of the mayor of Paris about the prescense of heavy armor in his streets. They did see action in trying to defend the tomb of Egyptian general AMON-TOTH. All the HAVOCS were lost when ZARANA destroyed a dam to cover her escape. HAVOCS were used again to defend the tomb of GENGIS KHAN and again in the battle to take back Washington DC. HAVOCS were also used in battling Cobra as the organization tried to attack a research facility. The battle ended badly as most of the vehicles were wrecked. Blame was placed on group leader DIAL-TONE who failed to coordinate with his fellow leaders SHIPWRECK and LIFELINE on a battleplan and removed the firing controls from the vehicles without replacing them. HAVOCS were last used to battle Cobra twice over the BET. The first was in the Himilayas where the creature NEMESIS ENFORCER was able to lift the front section of one over his head and then tear open the bottom to get to SNOW-JOB. The Second was at a civilian security lab. A HAVOC that DUKE was driving was destroyed by a massive worm called a MARUADER. As far has anyone knows, HAVOCS are still in use by GIJoe. (Note: The Havoc was repainted as the Sky Havoc for the GIJoe Sky Patrol toyline. A 21st centruy version of the Havoc appeared in issue 22 of the Devils Due GIJoe comic.)
