| HALCYON RENARD VOICE ACTOR: Robert Culp SPECIES: Human OCCUPATION: owner of Cyberbiotics 1ST APPEARENCE: GARGOYLES: OUTFOXED HALCYON RENARD is an aged and ill billionaire who made his fortune by heading the company Cyberbiotics. He had been married to a woman named ANASTASIA who bore him a daughter named Janine. Both left him to work for his rival, DAVID XANATOS. XANATOS also lured away from RENARD the scientist ANTON SEVARIUS and OWEN BURNETT. The only person who stayed loyal to RENARD was PRESTON VOGEL. RENARD was shocked whenfound out that Janine was dating XANATOS and had become a mercenary named FOX. In recent years, his illness is so severe he has to move around in a hightech wheelchair. In the mid-1990s, Cyberbiotics lost its airship, FORTRESS 1 during an attack by GOLIATH and DEMONA. RENARD spent huge amounts of his fortune to build FORTRESS 2 and stock it with robots instead of a human crew. GOLIATH was captured when he tried to follow FORTRESS 2. He confronted RENARD and told him he had been duped by XANATOS into attacking. RENARD still wanted GOLIATH to take responsibility for his actions. Meanwhile FORTRESS 2 was sabotaged by VOGEL on orders from FOX. RENARD and GOLIATH worked to get FORTRESS 2 under control. VOGEL also had a change of heart and helped his employer steer the ship out of harm's way. GOLIATH and RENARD parted as friends and VOGEL confessed his actions. RENARD was then visited by FOX who told him she was pregnant. RENARD'S illness grew worse and went to Prague to track down the legendary GOLEM and transfer his spirit to it. The GOLEM was stolen from MAX LOEW and the transfer was a success. GOLIATH and MAX confronted RENARD and much debate and a few punches, RENARD realized what he was doing was wrong and he returned to his old body. Several months later, RENARD visited the XANATOS home at CASTLE WYVERN to see the birth of his grandson, ALEXANDER. ANASTASIA was there and she revealed herself to be TITANIA, the wife of OBERON. OBERON himself showed up and tried to take ALEXANDER. RENARD and VOGEL helped fight him off by piloting FORTRESS 2. OBERON fended off the airship's attack and it had to retreat with minor damage. RENARD survived the battle and ALEXANDER was finally saved by FOX. RENARD has not been seen since. His current state of health is unknown. (Note: Robert Culp is more well known for his roles on the series I-Spy with Bill Cosby and the superhero spoof Greatest American Hero. He also appears in the Disney superhero movie Condorman.)
