| HAKON VOICE ACTOR: Clancy Brown RACE: Human OCCUPATION: Viking chief 1ST APPEARENCE: GARGOYLES: AWAKENINGS (DECEASED) HAKON was a Viking chief who tried attacking CASTLE WYVERN in 994 AD. He was repulsed by the castles human defenders and by the Gargoyles. Following that battle, the CAPTAIN OF THE GUARD of WYVERN apporoached HAKON and offered to help him take the Castle if he would capture the human population and then leave. HAKON agree but after he took the Castle, he not only captured all the humans, but also shattered every Gargoyle he could find. GOLIATH and his fellow survivors hunted HAKON down. The CAPTAIN blamed HAKON for GOLIATH'S attack but HAKON tried to make the CAPTAIN responsible for the deaths, the CAPTAIN got angry and attacked HAKON. They both ended falling to their deaths. Their spirits did not die and ended up haunting the caverns beneath where WYVERN once stood. GOLIATH stoped by the area right after leaving AVALON. The two ghosts tried to drive GOLIATH mad. They then tried to lure GOLIATH to an altar where they could drain his life force thus restoring themselves to life. The CAPTAIN repented his actions and attacked HAKON. This caused the altar to explode. GOLIATH was saved while the CAPTAIN was allowed to leave the Earthly plane. HAKON'S spirit was meanwhile trapped in the rumble of the altar. HAKON'S spirit later transfered itself to his ax after it was found by WOLF. WOLF was HAKON'S descedant and the two went back to America to attack the Gargoyles. They engaged GOLIATH and HUDSON in battle. Sometimes HAKON possessed the ax, others he took over WOLF'S body. HAKON finally took over the ax and he and WOLF fought the two Gargoyles at a junkyard. HUDSON lured HAKON to an autowrecking machine and used it to crush the ax. His only link to the Earthly plane destroyed, HAKON'S spirit vanished, never to return. (Note: Clancy Brown is the voice of Lex Luthor in the 90s Superman cartoon and in the Justice League cartoon. He can be seen in the movie Buckaroo Banzai and in the sci-fi show Earth 2.)
