| EYE OF ODIN 1ST APPEARENCE: GARGOYLES: THE EDGE The EYE OF ODIN is quite literally what it is. It is the right eye of ODIN, the Child of OBERON who was worshipped by the Norse as the warrior-king of the gods. ODIN somehow lost the EYE shortly after leaving AVALON a thousand years ago. In recent years, it passed into the hands of DAVID XANATOS. He donated it to a museum in New York. After getting out of jail, XANATOS stole it back as a test of his skills. He kept the EYE and later gave it to FOX as an engagement present. Wearing the EYE caused FOX to tap into the animalistic side of herself and turn into a werewolf. XANATOS had to team up with GOLIATH to free her from the EYE'S control. He allowed GOLIATH to keep the EYE. DEMONA & MACBETH stole the EYE from the Gargoyles home in the clocktower. They gave the item to the WEIRD SISTERS who then gave it to the ARCHMAGE. The ARCHMAGE used the EYE to give himself incredible magic powers. During a battle with GOLIATH, the ARCHMAGE had the EYE torn from his brow. The result was he could no longer control the energies that surged through him after he ate the GRIMORIUM. The ARCHMAGE was vaporized and GOLIATH took back the EYE and the PHOENIX GATE. GOLIATH and those on the AVALON WORLD TOUR ended up in Norway, where ODIN appeared and demanded the EYE back. GOLIATH donned the EYE and it caused him to grow in size and power. He drove ODIN off and then went about trying to protect the others. However, the EYE made him powerhungry and overprotective. The other grew tired of his bullying and confronted him while ODIN fought him. Seeing ANGELA in danger snapped GOLIATH out of the EYE'S spell. He took it off and threw it on the ground. ODIN recovered it and placed it back where it belonged. The EYE OF ODIN is still in his possesion today. (Note: According to Norse myth, Odin sacrificed his eye to gain knowledge.)
