RICO, BRON AND KONDA were the best spies in the Zentradi fleet. They were assigned to BREETAI'S task force in charge of searching for the stolen SDF-1. While chasing the now human-used SDF-1 across the solar system, BREETAI had the spies run a recon on the ship. Their spy mission was at the same time as the Miss Macross pagent. The spies were confused but intrigued by what they saw of human culture. They were so enthralled by the sights that they didn't see RICK HUNTER in a SUPER VERITECH approach until it was too late. The two groups got into a short dogfight which RICK won. The spies were fortunate enough to have escaped but their spyship was destroyed.
The spies were present when DOLZA interrogated the captives LISA HAYES, BEN DIXON, and RICK HUNTER. Like the other Zentradi in the room, the spies grew ill at seeing RICK and LISA kiss.� They volunteered for an extended deep recon inside the SDF. They were micronized and inserted during a brief skirmish. The three spies were at first overwhelmed and confused by human culture. At one point they even mistakenly put on women's clothes. This lead to KONDA being led into a women's bathroom where he was attacked for being a pervert. The three spies adjusted to their surroundings and even befriended SAMMIE, KIM, and VANESSA. The spies were still on the SDF when it returned to Earth and even attended a party where they joined in shouting "Down with the Zentradi!"
When the spies returned to the fleet they brought several artifacts with them. Some of them they kept and showed off. This gave rise to a cult that worshipped Earth culture. The group decided to defect. They micronized themselves and hid in BATLLEPODS. During a battle in MACROSS CITY inside the SDF, the defectors left the field of battle and surrendered to the humans. CAPTAIN GLOVAL allowed the Zentradi traitors to stay onboard and the three spies went to work in engineering. Their help proved instrumental during the titanic battle with DOLZA.
In the years following the triumph over DOLZA, RICO, BRON, and KONDA retired from the battlefield and took numerous jobs including running a laundry service and selling Christmas toys. They continued their friendship with the three SDF "bridge bunnies" and the six of them spent Christmas together. Shortly after, the girls were killed in battle with KHYRON. What became of the three spies is unknown.
