I was looking thru the stuff grama gave me and found some papers from a class reunion she went to. Among them I found what she sent in as her life story...
Esther Engel Metzger

After graduation from Luther Institute, I received my college education at the University of Chicago.

In 1935 I married Robert Metzger. We have two children, Robert Jr. who lives in Wyandotte, Mich., and   Louise, living in Trenton, MIchigan. Our three grandchildren are Marty, Keith and Kevin.

I taught at Golgotha and St. Stephen's Lutheran Schools in Chicago, than at St. Stephens in Detroit, and for 17 years at Trinity, Wyandotte, before retiring in June of 1974.

I directed one adult choir, several children's choirs, coached girls basketball team, coached cheerleaders, directed children's operetta, was active in the Ladies Aid and other women's groups, and the PTA.

Now I am doing some substitute teaching, tutoring, work with Evangelism. Once a month I lead the devotions at one of the convalescent homes, and baby sit my grandchildren as often as possible.

Bob taught school for 45 years, and was principal for 43 years. He retired two years before
I did.
I Believe this was from her 50 year Class Reunion. That would of been in 1978.
I love the part about baby sit the grandkids....my how times have changed...
love ya grama :)
