Gail Hendrickx
and
Jazz Alliance
Like all great singers, appearing before an audience is an essential element to developing as an artist, so in her early days Gail started singing in public with a modern band playing rock in church!

At school she was an enthusiastic member of the choir and performed a great deal of choral music which gave her many opportunities to develop her voice and technique. Even at an early age success touched her and she won a few Eisteddfods. Gail also appeared on BBC and HTV,  and even starred in her own programme. During this period she had the great fortune to work and appear with artists such as Cliff Morgan, Ted Rogers, Stan Stennett, Frank Carson, Bonnie Tyler, Billie J Kramer. After winning a Butlins talent competition at Pwllheli she was signed up by Decca and all this by the time she was 18.

After a period in Folk music and further experience appearing with other bands she spent time in the Netherlands, visited Goa where she met her husband Peter, brought up her children and  still found time to get to know and love Jazz. Gail's main jazz influences are Ella Fitzgerald and Eva Cassidy.

Gail has lived in Newbury since 1983 and sings regularly with Jazz Alliance as well as playing solo gigs.

Jazz  Alliance is Gavin Wilkinson (guitar), Geoff Rex (valve trombone), Andy Masters (string bass) and Joost Hendrickx (drums). Gavin and Geoff are well known in West Berkshire and have played all styles of Jazz and other types of music and appear to have a limitless repetoire. They are impeccably supported by Andy on string base and Joost on drums who ably demonstrates that musical talent runs in the Hendrickx family.

Gail Hendrickx with Jazz Alliance create a top line jazz experience.
Gail Hendrickx hails from Swansea, and like so many of her compatriots, singing has always been an important part of her life.
