Beef Paprika Stew

1 onion chopped
3 Tbs lard
2 Lbs beef 1" cubes
2 Tbs paprika
salt to taste
1/4 tsp caraway seeds slightly crushed
1/8 Tsp marjoram
1 green pepper sliced
1 12 oz can tomatoes
red wine

Sauté onions and set them aside. Brown the
meat and deglaze the pan with red wine. Add
all ingredients and add enough beef stock or
water to cover meat. Simmer 1 or 2 hours or
until the meat is tender. Serve over dumplings.
