| UWF Sophomore Another summer rolled around and ofcourse Ted and I got back together. He was in Fighter Navigator Training at the time being and had himself an apartment near the Navy Base. I spent most of my time over at his place rather than my dorm. However, that all changed when he failed his training and was reassigned to be a Personnel Officer over at Eglin. Once again he broke up with me since he was moving... I swear that when he knows that he will pysically away from me for more than five days is when he decides to ditch me then just comes back.... and my stupid ass takes him back. With him out of the picture, I moved back to the dorms and focused more on ROTC. It was lot easier for me in the Corps now because I didn't have Ted shadowing my work. He even tried to get me to quit ROTC because he didn't feel comfortable dating a cadet. Whatever, I already learned my lesson once about changing my life for a man and its not going to happen again. With all the free time that I had, I was able to continue my work on the Drill Competition. I set up a staff including myself, Heffelfinger, Sodusta, Evangelista, Casuga, and Mendoza. With all their help knew that the event was going to be outstanding! For our first drill meet ever, we got seven schools to compete. The trophies were beautiful... Liz and I designed them ourselves! Finally when the event took place, evert went smoothly! We couldn't ask for a better day either! It was absolutely gorgeous weather! I was really proud of myself for handling such a large event... and I owe a lot of it to my staff. They were really great and I couldn't have done it without them. A few days after the competition, Ted called me up. He invited me to go to dinner with him to meet his new friends. I met Ted at Olive Garden and I explained to him that he needed to understand that he and I were just friends. He said that he understood. So the night progressed along and Ted's friends finally showed up. We all sat at the table and I was introduced to Mike and his sister... as well as Lee. Mike looked very much like Carey Elwes which was pretty cool. He was good looking but too old and mature for my liking. Lee was really cute and funny so I felt more comfortable talking to him. For some reason all kinds of stupid crazy things were going through my mind that night. Like when Lee was passing out the salad, he dropped an olive on the table next my plate. I just kept thinking, "Damn I wanted to eat that." Then Ted was kinda talking like him and I were still together so I just looked at him like he was crazy. I went back to Pensacola and kept in touch with Ted. Later on Ted gave me Lee's screen name so I chatted with him too. I learned that he was leaving for pilot training in three months and I thought that was pretty cool. It was about a week and a half before fall finals and I went back home to go out to dinner with Will. It was purley as friends. We had dinner at Chili's and talked about what he had been up to these past few years. Sometime that night my car was acting a little funny so instead of driving back to Pensacola, I stayed the night at my house so that I could look at my car in the morning. That night I saw Lee online and I whined to him about my car. He said he knew some things about car and offered to take a look at it the next day. I took my car to get it serviced first to see exactly what needed to be taken care of. The auto place just happened to be right next to Tucker Auto... where my "uncle" Greg owned a car lot. So I went over there and saw Greg's brother Jeff. I hadn't seen him like in ten years! He used to work at the arcade and always gave me free tokens. Now he was thirty with a 9 year old kid. He was single too and I kinda got the hint he was trying to groove, but excess baggage is not my thing. So while my car was being serviced, I hung out there and called Lee to see if he was still going to look at my car. I got a hold on him and drove on over to his place and what was weird is that he lived right next to Jeff and Shauna! I thought Ted was going to show up at his place that night, but he never did and he was supposed to bring over the parts to fix my car. Since we didn't have the parts, Lee couldn't do anything with my car so he acted very hospitable and offered me every kind of candy known to man! It wasn't a good idea to drive my car in the condition that it was in so Lee offered to drive me home. Jumping ahead to the next night, Sandy let me take the SUV back to Lee's to get my car. Ted arrived that night with the needed parts. We were all looking at the car, but I was being smart and kept my distance from the car. I couldn't help but laugh because Lee was getting electrocuted like every five seconds. We found out what was wrong with the car and at the time it wasn't really fixable. So I got the car back to my house. The next morning I prepared to leave for Pensacola despite the condition the car was in. I had to get back for my ROTC final. However, the car wouldn't start... damn thing wouldn't even turn over! So I was stuck in Fort Walton Beach! A few days later, my uncle came over and fixed my car. He changed all the spark plugs and changed a fuse. I got back to Pensacola and for the remainder of the week I talked to Lee online and I started to like him. We went on a few dates and even went to Seville. That night at Seville was really awesome! I ran into James... he was one of the guys that we went skinny dipping with when I locked the keys in the trunk! It was so weird to run into him. He asked if Lee was my boyfriend and I said no, because technically in Lee's "guy terminology" thats all we were. So I asked Lee if it was ok if I told people that he was my friend, but he kinda insinuated that I could call him my boyfriend. Even though the didn't flat out say it, I still was pretty psyched because at first we were dating just for fun but I got like him more than that and I really didn't want him to leave. Two things that are really cool about Lee is that he somehow has some sort of indirect relationship to the people that I know despite the fact he went to Auburn and he also seems to be one step ahead of my thoughts like he knows what I am going to say. It made me like him even more and I eventually I told him how I felt... which made me feel a little better but I was still sad. I kinda thought about long distance, but then realized it was stupid and it wasn't something that he wanted either. So I gave him a Ty Beanie Puppy to remember me by and thought that it should suffice. I'm really going to miss him a lot. The Spring Semester came around and I met some new friends in the hall: Jen, J-Dub, Dustin, and Jackie. We all went to a party one night and I had some jello shots and jolly ranchers... mmm yummy! I was feeling really good that night and Jackie told me that one of the guys there wanted my phone number, but I wasn't really wanting to date anyone. I also saw Ben there... my Martin Hall roomate's fiance. After the party we all went to Carousel's and met this guy from Chicago there. He was extremely muscular and gave me his number. Then I really wanted to dance so Dustin got one of his baseball friends to dance with me. After we got done dancing, I came back to talk to Jen and everyone told me that I was a really good dancer and that the DJ got the camera that hooked up to the overhead big screen and zoomed in on me while I was dancing! I was so embarrassed! A week went by and Valentine's Day was coming up. I hadn't spoken to Ted much lately, but one night I got some random Instant Message from him saying that he asked John (guy I tried to date a year ago) to call me and then screw me over on a date. I didn't think very much over it, but two weeks later I emailed John to let him know how screwed up I thought the whole plan was. John emailed me back and he said that Ted asked him to call me but declined because it was a really messed up thing to do. Well after that John and I started Instant Messaging each other. About a week later I was going over to Brooke's apartment to have some drinks with her. I invited John and his roomate over. Wayne stayed for a little bit and then recieved a phone call from some girl that he was trying to date. So after he got off his cell, Wayne asked me if I could give John a ride home that way John didn't have to leave so early. I agreed, but I couldn't help but feel it was some sort of set-up. I took John home around midnight because Brooke had classes in the morning. I was a little bit tipsy, so when we got to John's apartment he said that I could sober up in his apartment. We talked for a while in the living room and watched some TV. I eventually fell asleep on the couch for about thirty minutes or so. I woke back up and decided it was about time for me to leave. As I was saying good-bye to John, I could tell that he was feeling kinda awkward. So I made fun of him and said, "You want to kiss me don't you"? He looked down and said, "Yes". It was so cute! Well I got up to leave but then he moved in and finally kissed me! I was a little nervous at first because I was still worried about how Ted was trying to get John to hurt me and plus the fact that John and I tried to date last year and things never worked out. After the goodnight kiss I left to go home and John said that he would call me in the morning. So from then on we started dating and spending every minute of our time together. to be continued...... |
