Admissions policy

This consists of an initial meeting with parents and child/children to discuss requirements, e.g. Hours days etc. I will show registration certificate, public liability insurance, references etc. I will give parents a prospectus to take home, followed by completion of records and contract.

You may then wish your child to spend 1 or 2 sessions here to "settle in" although this is not normally needed.

Exclusion Policy

Any communicable disease will make the child inadmissible without
prior agreement. Diseases include:

Chickenpox: excluded until all spots have scabbed or five days,
whichever is longest.

Conjunctivitis: exclusion policy will apply in certain cases

Diarrhoea and Vomiting: excluded for 24 hours after last bout.

Fifth disease: excluded for 3 days from onset.

Flu: excluded for 5 days

German Measles: excluded for five days from rash onset.

Head Lice: maximum exclusion for persistent cases until cleared

Hepatitis: For under 5s exclusion will apply for five days

Impetigo: excluded until lesions are completely crusted/healed

Measles: Five days exclusion from onset.

Meningitis: exclusion may not apply, but CCDC will be informed

Mumps: exclusion for five days.

Scabies: excluded until treatment has started.

Scarlet Fever: excluded for five days after treatment has started.

This list is not exhaustive, and I must be informed of all illnesses
or accidents, no matter how insignificant. Exclusion may apply at my
discretion, and illnesses may be generally discussed with other
parents to decide if exclusion is warranted

Equal Opportunities Policy

All children are given the same opportunity to play, experience and achieve with due regard for their age, race, religion, gender, culture, disability or special educational needs, social background or composition of the family.

Racist/sexist behaviour or language is always appropriately challenged.

Positive images of people often discriminate against are given/shown through activities, experiences and conversation. I fell that it is important for a child's self esteem and confidence to have a positive image of the racial/cultural/social group that their family belong to.

Safety Policy

All children are encouraged to take responsibility for the environment and to care for one another.

I have a mobile phone so that you can always contact me.
I have an emergency back up system, involving registered childminder Jane Mellor.
I the case of a real emergency Jane may be left in charge of the children and you would be contacted immediately and made aware of the situation, you would then be asked to collect your child from Jane.

Jane would also hold all contact numbers for you.

I also have an emergency Fire evacuation plan.
