Behaviour Management Policy

I operate a NO SMACKING/PHYSICAL PUNISHMENT policy in line with the Ofsted and and believe that using positive reinforcement manages a child's behaviour more effectively.

Realistic expectations of a childs behaviour are set with regard to their individual stage of development and age.

It is important to praise and encourage a child's good behaviour immediately and with consistency.

I believe children should be given praise, attention, shown appreciation and approval to help build their self-esteem and confidence.

Working in partnership with parents and families is a high priority to keep the consistency for the child.
I will provide a happy, safe, well managed environment for the children, encouraging them to develop social skills acceptable to society and give them a good base on which to grow and develop.

At present any initial concerns about a child will be referred from me, working in partnership with parents to the Early Years team, in this case via the Network Co-ordinator.
