| On a lonely Christmas Eve
As I walked alone that night. I looked upon a window Where I saw a miraclous sight. I thought maybe I was seeing things Or having some weird dream. But on Christmas Eve, miracles happen And things aren't as they seem. For I saw Jolly Ole St. Nick As he put out the gifts and toys. Knowing he would put smiles On those lucky girls and boys. But then, he did something else And I could plainly see. He turned ever so slowly And gazed his eyes at me. In that moment, I just knew That I wasn't really alone. I saw that special twinkle As he visited that special home. In that moment, I saw the hope And the love that shone in his eyes. It gave me a special glow inside, But to Santa, that was no surprise. This was truly a Christmas miracle For on this lonely Christmas Eve, Walking on that snowy night I found that I believed. So I gave him the only thing I could, A quick wave and a smile that night. He gave me hope that Christmas Eve, Knowing there's a miracle in sight. Written by Katherine M. Parisse Copyrighted December 2006 |
