| I found out I was pregnant with Jennifer three days after I left my ex-husband, Tim, and she saved me from the depression I had been sinking into. When my other two children, Matthew and Emmalee, found out that they were going to have a little baby brother or sister, they were very excited. We dubbed this pregnancy, "Our Baby." That really made them feel special--Like they were really going to be a big part of this pregnancy--which they most certainly were. |

| I was induced at 10 am and the labor progressed quickly...so quickly in fact that my obstetrician was not able to make it to the delivery and the midwife on-call had to take over. Jennie was born at 3:25 pm on February 12th, 2002, and she immediately became the light of my life. And I was really able to watch in awe at the sweet baby things she did. She would root around with her mouth any time something would touch it--hence, her nickname, "Birdie." |
| Jennie flourished quickly and was soon crawling, talking and walking to be just like her older siblings. On the next page, you will see just how beautiful she has become...she has such a sweet disposition. She is even more than I could have wished for when I brought her home from the hospital. |
