| 1) Homosexuality is wrong because it is not natural, just like eyeglasses, polyester, birth control, and airplanes. 2) Heterosexual marriages are valid because they produce children. Infertile couples and old people can't legally get married because the world needs more children. 3) Gay parents will raise gay children, just like straight parents only raise straight children. Stalking the Wild Taboo The abstract says it all, but read further if you're interested. 4) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage is allowed. Incidentally, Britney Spears' 55 - hour marriage was meaningful... ...just like her music. (BURN!) 5) Heterosexual marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal, just like in the old days. 6) Gay marriage should be decided by the people, not the courts, because the majority-elected legislatures, not courts, have historically protected the rights of the minorities. Ohio Courts oppose Governor 7) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country because that religion knows what's best for everyone. That's why we have only one religion in America. What most Christians think Scroll down to "WOW!! What is that really saying?" Isn't it possible that it means (assuming Christianity is the one true religion) that humans have misinterpreted what God wants and approves of, and that maybe the humans who wrote the books had wax in their ears? 8) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall. 9) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract. 10) Children can never succeed without a male and female role model at home. That's why single parents are forbidden to raise children. 11) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society. Heterosexual marriage has been around for a long time, and we could never adapt to new social norms because we haven't adapted to things like cars or longer lifespans or women making money and wearing pants. 12) Civil unions, providing most of the same benefits as marriage but with a different name, are better for homosexuals because a "separate but equal" institution is always constitutional. Separate schools and hotels and drinking fountains and bathrooms and hospitals for African-Americans worked out just fine. 13) Gay couples would raise weird, deviate children because you have to be weird and deviate to be gay. That's why we don't let deviate pregnant virgins or weird resurrected dudes with nails in their hands raise children, their moral values are completely out of whack. The Vatican's response to gay marriage 14) Abolishing the idea of gay marriage forever will help America with its 'gay problem'. Just like how banning alcohol cured all our drunks and reduced crime. |
