| The Humeston Fire Department now has hose rollers available for purchase. They are designed to be used to quickly and efficiently drain hose of water and air after a fire. As you can see by the pictures it is a simple 2 man operation. One man holds an end of the hose and the other walks with the roller and the water and air is quickly, easily and safely removed from the hose. This considerably speeds up breakdown time after a fire. If you are still walking your hose out you need to try one of our rollers. They will make you wonder why you ever walked it out to begin with. We have sold several rollers to larger departments in Iowa, including Clive, Windsor Heights and Urbandale. We have 2 sizes available. The silver roller measures 5 1/2 inches wide. It can roll hose sized up to around 3 inches. The red roller measures 9 inches wide. It can easily roll hose sized up to around 6 inches. Both rollers are heavy duty and very well made.
