JAIME AND MA. LINDA PADUA-TAN AND FAMILY: SIMPLENG BUHAY
Simplicity has always been the mark of Jaime P. Tan.
During his high school days,
he was unassuming but this man was a closet intellectual unknown
to many.
He was no. 3 overall ranking in the 1978 Entrance
Exams at the PLM.
He later transferred to Adamson 'though and pursued architectural
studies.
Jaime eventually married a batchmate, the former Ma. Linda Padua
(E3), one
of the batch's campus beauties midway during college.
They are now living in Ricardo Street, Gagalangin in a cozy
home cum
workshop which Jaime and Lennie themselves literally built. Their
small
t-shirt printing business is their bread and butter. Their
children,
Kristine Venus, 17 (Fr. Erick's godchild)and
is now in college;
Jim Atlantis, 13 (Fr. Erick's scholar in his
school); Cindy Diorella, 11 and
Jamie Leannie, 9 are all jewels of their parents
as they are physically
beautiful (all showbiz materials; in fact, Kristine Venus already
had some
t.v. exposures which caused Jaime's temperament to rise)
and intelligent.
The two younger girls are consistent honor students. Jim Atlantis
reminds
us of Jaime during his first year high years.
Their simple abode in Gagalangin is often heard with giggles
and
laughters. Theirs is a happy family characterized by simple
needs and
simple provisions. Each child has a share in the household chores;
no need
for a house maid! And both Jaime and Lennie are excellent
cooks.
Indeed, "simpleng buhay," . . . but no doubt
that this very virtue brought
them countless joys and blessings! Shall we join them
in their daily
"bahay-bahayan cum picnic"?
