Was it the treat of an agenda? Or was it the timing of the CyberII...being Sunday in the Philippines? Whatever it is, the CyberReunionII was a flop in luring the Cyber I chatters to come back for more. Some were out of town with their family. Some might have forgotten it despite the reminders. But it was a big hit in America. Being a Saturday, we got more people from abroad. Riz & Dana Bautista from LA were the most punctual and the first ones to join Val. They were daring for most part of the chat. Most notable is the presence of the New York group. Romeo Kabigting and Manolo Tuazon's presence was greatly felt even with their disguise as General User. Their candidness and obscenities brighten up the chatroom. No flu can stop Rey Bisda from being a fun person. He started a little bit quiet, but then he crank it up few notches as the chat progressed. Nell Cena joined fresh from the church talking about butts. The first one from the Philippines, he was his usual comic self. We were talking about Moks when Tess joined us from LA. Lex was busy so he was represented by her eldest daughter, Maristel...Romeo's god-daughter. Edgar Atienza joined quietly from Missouri. He was trying to finish a computer program he was working on while reading the chat in between and while waiting and speaking about Father Erick, the devil arrived. Fadir was a bit formal at first, "citing that it is Sunday in the Philippines, so he is a priest today". It did not take long and he blended with the sinners. Reuel Cruz from Ohio joined in and add to the craziness in the room. Vic completed the New York trio. I can't believe he was TALKING OUT LOUD in the room the whole time. Mon "Amnesia" Salas was his usual self, too...asking who is who all the time. Celso Galvez from Burnaby, BC joined and was greeted with oinks. He and Romeo were from the batch of '79 but they blend well with their manong & manangs. A newcomer, Terry Javier-Abad joined in from Richmond, also in B.C.. Unknown to many, Mr. Javier's (head of Practical Arts) niece introduced a new chat lingo "o ic" (oh, i see). After 4 hours, people started leaving. There were six people in the room when Edna Adriano from Pinas came. She manage to get the tail end of the chat. I excused myself because my ISP has warned me that I am being disconected in 30 seconds. Terry and Edna was still in the room when I left. Sixteen chatters graced the room and although we did not accomplish anything, we bonded together and renewed our friendship. Our thanks to all those who joined the chat. Thanks Edgar for tuning-in in spite your tight schedule on your project. We missed your active participation but we are just as happy that you still tried to be a part of the chat, juggling work and fun...and baby sitting. After going through the script, I'll say it was a successful and fun reunion. Next time though, we won't threaten you with an agenda...and we'll make it just for sheer fun. We hope our batchmates from Saipan, Alaska and Thailand (Inia is moving to Bangkok) can join us in the next chat and more chatters from our homeland. It won't be anytime soon though. As Fadir said "overfamiliriaty breeds contempt". |
