Doctor Ching in L.A.

Another Mini-Reunion in Los Angeles

Hi to you all!  Again, we were able to organize another mini reunion in honor of our visiting doctor from the Philippines, Dr. Ching Cabildo Albornoz.  We were joined by another grand lady of Torres High Diana Lansangan Gonzales.  She came with her two kids minus her better half, who happened to be working that day.  Liby and Ernie drove all the way from San Francisco to join us.  The fun would have been greater if Criselda Aniag Siquian was able to make it  from Las Vegas.  Unfortunately her husband had surprise visitors that day, so she had to stay home.
During our high school days, I never got the chance to talk to Ching and Diana, because as they themselves put it, mga suplada sila.   But last Saturday, we knew their better sides,  mababait pala silang kausap.  I didn't realize that Diana  can also be funny.  Would you believe that Diana even helped my daughter Denise with her school assignment.  Thanks again, Diana for doing that.  Diana even gave all the kids some treats.  The kids thought that she is Mrs. Claus.  Ching, on the other hand shared some of her medical knowledge with us for free.  Ching, please don't send us any bill, okay.
We watched the fellowship video together, and yes, Tess is right the most popular person was Edna Adriano.  After watching the video, we continued with our chat, while Ernie(Liby's husband) took some pictures and video.  We can't wait till we have them developed.  Val,  don't worry we will send you the pictures as soon as we can.
We were all having so much fun, until we realized that it is time to go.  We all had to say goodbye to one another but promised to always keep in touch.  I don't know what everybody thinks, but i would like to think that I gained new friends and kept old ones.

love,

dana

Hi, everyone!  Just wanted to let you know what had happened last Saturday, Nov. 25th during our mini-reunion with Ching.  As always, the get-together was held at the Bautista residence.   Thanks to Riz and Dana for sharing their home with us.  The Parados were the ones who arrived first.  Dana and I went out to pick up the food we ordered.  Diana came with her two kids, Ysabel and Greg.  Ysabel and Greg were just observing at first, but later on felt at home and played with the other kids.  We were then joined by Liby, Ernie, and Denny (Ernie's nephew).  Since it was past noontime, we decided to have lunch without Ching and Cris.  Diana, thank you for the brownies and chocolates!  They must be good - the plate was empty shortly we put them on the table.  Hindi ko man lang natikman.  Finally, Ching arrived at around 3:00 p.m. and of course we were all curious how her trip went.  I guess she enjoyed Las Vegas the most, just ask her why.  By the way, Cris didn't make it to L.A.  For whatever reason, pinatatawad ka namin ni Dana.  The ladies then decided to watch the "Fellowship Meeting Batch '78" video. The "Most Popular Torresian" award went to Edna Adriano!  Kilala siya ng lahat.  She's the same Edna we used to know - palaging masaya at life of the party.   Where and how were the kids doing?  They were all pretty busy playing with toys or nintendo, running around, racing, eating, etc.  They were all over the place.  Riz and Dana's house is the only place where Lex and I can relax and let our kids go out of sight.  Again, we gathered around the table to eat snacks - kuwentuhan, trying to recall the good annd bad times, buhay estudyate, buhay may-asawa at anak, tawanan, etc.  It was late (almost 10.00 p.m.) when we cut the cord.   The M1 guys and gals had a great time with the Special Science girls (Diana & Ching), we felt connected and we just hope they enjoyed our get-together as much as we did.  Diana, Dana, and I agreed to spend some time together again in the near future.  Val, if your plan of coming to L.A. next year pushes through, expect Diana to be there.  Thank you too to Liby, Ernie, and Ching for taking the time to be with us.  Ching, please stay in touch.  Remember, we'll all be waiting for your e-mail.  This is all for now, until next time.  Take care of yourselves and God bless!

With love,

Lex and Tess

November 26, 2000 around 12:24am on I-5 heading North, my heart is full of joy reminiscing our high school days. I remember those pretty faces, the Cancer's and the Math girls (including the boys)bumping into each other at the hallway/stairs, it feels like yesterday.
Thank you so much Dana, Riz, Tess and Lex for the wonderful reunion.  Although we missed Crizelda (I've been wanting to see her), Diana and Ching were able to make it. They have not changed that much beauty pa rin sila. Ernie and I had a wonderful time with them and if not for my brother in law's work schedule we really wanted to stay until Sunday. Hopefully on our next reunion we can all come. I am looking forward to our coming 25years celebration. We are praying for the Lord's guidance to our classmates who's organizing this event and for everyone's favor that we will all be there and be a blessing to all.
Thanks again to our Southern Californian friends for another wonderful time with the family,  Diana, the kids and Dr. Ching.

Lord Bless,
Liby and Ernie
