You are different and people can spot you. They can see you different from their way of worldliness. "There's one of them!" And it separates you. Here is my text Exodus Chapter 33 verse 17 and 18 "And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in My sight, and I know thee by name. And he said, I beseech Thee, shew me Thy glory." Listen, JESUS CHRIST is the glory of God. I do not have much of a problem convincing people that God was in a rock. I have never had much problem getting the attention of the people in numerous denominations and getting them to shout over this one thing that God was in that burning bush; God was in that cloud; God was in that fire, but I have seen it get so cold, that it was like icicles when I would stand and speak that god was in CHRIST, "...reconciling the world unto himself,...(II Corinthians 5:19). You have got to understand that JESUS CHRIST did not have His origin or beginning in the New Testament. His coming and going forth has been from everlasting to everlasting. "But thou Bethlehem Ephratah, Though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting" (Micah 5:2). Paul got so much "gumption" about himself. He got so filled with th HOLY GHOST that he said, "And did all drink the sam spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual ROCK that followed them: and that ROCK was CHRIST" (I Corinthians 10:4). If that ROCK was CHRIST, then that burning bust was CHRIST. If that ROCK was CHRIST, then that cloud on Sinai was CHRIST. God has always been a Spirit and "Now the Lord - capital L-O-R-D--is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the LORD-Capital L-O-R-D--is , there is liberty" (II Corinthians 3:17). Now the LORD is that Spirit and CHRIST has alwaysbeen that body. God appeared in different forms, in a bush , a rock, a cloud, and various things, but the original form was when JESUS was born of a virgin. JESUS was the pattern; Adam was the figure of Him to come. Romans 5:14 states, "Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of Him that was to come." In Exodus 33:19, God speaks to Moses... "I will make all My goodness pass befor thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy." then in verse 20 the LORD says. "Thou canst not see my face..." You see, JESUS CHRIST was and is the face of God. That's why Paul said, "For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to hive the light of the Knowledge of the glory of God in the face of JESUS CHRIST" (II Corinthians 4:6) What God was really saying was that Moses you are not going to be able to see my secret. You are not going to see what I have kept secret because no man can see me and live. But in Exodus 33:21, The LORD assures Moses and says, "Behold there is a place by Me...:" Remember that God said, "Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understandthat I am He: before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after Me."
Also in Isaiah 43:10, confirms what God said, ",,,ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am He: before me that was no God formed, Neither shall there be after me." In Isaiah 44:8 God said, ",,,ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? Yea, there is no God; I know not any. And in Isaiah 45:5 God said, "I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: Igirded thee, though thou hast not known me:" God is telling a prophet here that there is a place by me. There is a particular place by me and ",,,thou shalt stand upon a rock: And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock,..." (Exodus 33:21-22). God was saying, "I will set you back in a little hole--a little cave--on the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while i pass by. I will put you in there. I have got you in that little clift-- that little cave--and I'm going to cover it over and My hand is going to be the door over you." But then He says in verse 23, Exodus 33, "And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen." I want to preach about "A PLACE BY ME", You know that the Bible talks about God's right hand. God said ",,,therefore Mine own arm brought salvation unto Me;...(Isaiah 53:1). One of the greatest prophest that ever lived by the name of Isaiah said, "Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?" JESUS was the very right hand of god himself. Whether you like this or not or whether you understand it or not, this is true. Many times, the lack of understanding stops you from comprehending just how great this JESUS is. You see, that right hand, the "A PLACE BY ME" that God was talking about is the place of fellowship. Its the place that god made man to be. Not as a ruling factor in heaven, but as aplace of fellowship between heaven and earth. A fellowship between God and man that He made from the dust of the ground. You see, Adam who was made to be that right hand, who was the son of god, and was made in the image and the likeness of God. And God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:..."(Genesis 1:26). Adam was made to inhabit the earth in the right hand position beside God. Man would have always been right at God's fingertips as far as fellowship is concerned, but when sin entered the world through Adam and death by sin, then there was a deep vacancy left beside of God. It was empty; it was void. There was nobody who could fill it. There was no man in heaven and no man in earth and no man under the earth that could fill that placen at God's right hand.
In actuality, JESUS CHRIST has brought us in Himself back to the right hand. "Which he wrought in CHRIST, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at his own right hand in the heavenly places." (Ephesians 1:20). "Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as CHRIST was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." (Romans 6:4). Now you are walking with Him in a new relationship and you have obtained that place in god spiritually. You are not there naturally, but spiritually, "For ye are dead, and your life is hid with CHRIST in God." (Colossians 3:3). And you are truly brought back to the right hand position. When God made Adam, He made man to be His right hand of fellowship and love. Adam was there and he was the link between heaven and earth, between God and man. It was so close that God called the man His son. And then God saw that is wasn't good for man to be alone; so He gave Adam his wife, Eve. She was made from the rib taken out of the very side of Adam. And the LORD God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man." (Genesis 2:18-22). In this garden, that God planted - is the garden that God made man to live in. He Made man for the pupose of tilling the ground to raise crops. See Genesis 2:5- "...And there was not a man to till the ground." Satan came into that garden for one purpose, he tried to take god's throne, and ultimately was thrown out of heaven. Alright, Satan lost that war and was cast into a darkened and void earth. Then God made the woman and gave here to Adam. Satan came back into that garden. He came in therer to steal the world and he eventuall did. Through deception and cunning devices, he convinced Eve that she could be a goddess. He convinced her that she could be like god. By this lie, Satan caused her mind to be under subjection to the very things that caused a third of the angels to fall. Because of this, her mind was troubled and she began to think that she could become like God or be a goddess. When she began thinking like this she fell, unbeknowingly to herself, from her place with her husband. Think of this right hand position. Adam was still in fellowship with his Creator and Maker. Now, there is no way that Eve can get back into fellowship with god because she had fallen. She had been deceived; she fell in sin. But as yet sin had not passed upon Adam and it had not been passed upon you. Only Eve had fallen because she believed that helish lie of the devil that she could be like God. Then she turned to Adam and thouroughly convinced him thathe could be as big as God. He, too, could be a god. she gave him that gruit and he did eat. Adam had a choice. He could believe what she said or he could reject it forever. There wasn't any way in the world that she could get back to God. Except for the fact that Adam was made in the image and likeness of God and had the love of God, Eve could never have gotten back to God. |
