Whatever will they think of next?
I use dynamo lights on my bikes. Once they�re fitted, they won�t fall off, they�re not likely to be stolen unless the whole bike is, and, except for a tendency to slip in wet weather, they generally work fairly well.
And now, I read in the latest issue of the CTC magazine Cycle, the Pedal & Power dynamo will also charge your mobile phone. A full charge from an hour�s cycling. Will apparently recharge other things as well. Details on www.ikonglobal.com.
If you cycle, I recommend joining the CTC: membership includes third-party insurance.
