The Little Mermaid set Disney back on the right track. It was the first really big hit for Disney since the original classics, and set the tone for all the great movies to come. |

Ariel was the perfect little heroine. She was a lovable dreamer, and you couldn't help but root for her. She was drawn perfectly, although comments on her seashells did arise, and Jodi Benson did a great job voicing her. |

Scuttle was an awesome sidekick! He was funny, weird, and kind of dumb, but still loveable. His whole character in general was just great. His voice made the character, though. |

Sebastian, by far the best character in the movie. I love his voice! I just makes him that much more cool. He's simply hysterical, and you almost wish the movie were about just him. |

Ursula was one of Disney's great villians. You just love to hate her. She also had great sidekicks, Flotsum and Jetsum. And she holds claim to the best Disney villian song. |

One of my favorite Disney characters is the chef. Yes, he's obscure, but he's a great character. Maybe it's because I love cool accents or just because he's so crazy and cool. His whole little exchange with Sebastian is great. he's hysterical and makes the whole movie so much better. Whatever it is that makes him awesome, he gets 2 big 'ole thumbs up! |
