The Lion King is the story of a young lion cub named Simba. His father, Mufasa, is king and SImba is heir to the throne. But SImba's evil uncle Scar wants the throne for himself so he devises a plan to be rid of Mufasa and Simba. But the plan fails and Scar must scare Simba into hiding. Simba finds a new way of life and new friends in Timon, the meerkat, and Pumbaa, the warthog. While Simba is away, Scar and his hyena henchmen destroy the Pridelands and only Nala, his childhood pal, and Rafiki, the wise old baboon, can reach Simba and get him to return to the throne that is rightfully his.

You know how in most movies there are stand out characters and then supporting ones. And the good characters make the movie? Well, there isn't a single character in this movie that isn't great! It's just awesome, from all aspects.

Timon and Pumbaa make for great sidekicks. I love them. In fact they were such great characters, they got their own T.V. show. (too bad it's horrible)

The hyenas were the perfect evil henchmen. Stupid, evil, and funny. The personality mix amoung them was great too. Shenzi and Banzai, the more intelligent two, and then you throw in Ed, the perfect trio!
Ed
Even the characters not really meant to stand out shine. Zazu is great. Rafiki just rules. His wit and his voice make him an awesome supporting character who really holds his own. Mufasa's voice really makes him, nice job geting James Earl Jones, perfect choice! And the clouds thing was cool, and for the record, there is NOTHING written in them.

And then, of course, there's Scar, the villian. He's just wonderful, what can I say, a classic Disney villian. He's the villian you love to hate. His voice, provided by Jeremy Irons, fits perfectly, his villian song is one of the best, too.
