Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame was inspired by Victor Hugo's classic novel. It is a tragic drama, a first for Disney in animation. It's the story of Quasimodo, the gentle and lonely bell ringer of Notre Dame Cathedral.  At the urging of his gargoyle pals, Quasi ventures outside his shelter in the Cathedral to the Festival of Fools, only to be laughed at and humilated.  He is rescued by another outcast, the gypsy Esmerelda.  Together, Esmerelda and Quasi must face the evil Frollo, who wants to destroy the gypsies and keep Quasi hidden.  The two are aided by the brave Captain Pheobus and Esmerelda's pal Djali, the fiesty  goat.

Quasimodo was a good lead character.  He is so naive and caring you have to love him

The gargoyles were the perfect sidekicks for this movie.  They have excellent voices and great personalities.  They are just so funny and loveable.

Clopin was a great addition to the movie.  His opening to the story was perfect, and his comedy helped to lighten things up a little.

Phoebus was a very cool character also.  Kevin Kline did an excellent voice for him.  Phoebus was brave, caring, and serious, yet funny all at the same time.

I liked Esmerelda, she was a really good character.  She wasn't the traditional Disney female.  She was headstrong and witty.  And Demi Moore's voice really helped bring her to life.

I love Achilles, and just because of that one line too,
"Achilles, heal!"

And, as always, last but not least, the villain.  Frollo was a very good villain. he was evil to the core and he made you hate him.
