Mulan is an ancient Chinese legend about a young girl who doesn't quite fit in to her traditional-bound society. When the Hun army invades China, her aging father is called into battle. In order to save his live, she disguises herself as a boy and goes in his place to join the Imperial army. Her ragtag troop of soldiers, led by Captain Shang, could be the last hope for the emperor. Mushu is a dragon, a demoted member of her ancestorial counsel, who, along with the lucky cricket, Cri-Kee, try and help Mulan to fit in.
I don't even know what to say about Mulan....except that I absolutely love this movie! It's just so great that I don't know what to tell you but that you must see it.
Mushu is hysterical, hands down the best character in the movie. His voice is provided by Eddie Murphy. He is just so funny. You'll love him! Mushu Rules!
There's no question that my favorite part of this movie is "the man song". It's the best. The song is just so cool and cheesy, I just love it. I can recite the whole, thing probably even without the music. So I put it on here for you to listen to.
The Emperor is a really cool character, too. But maybe I just like him because Mr. Miyagi does his voice.
And Cri-Kee is another one of those non-speaking sidekicks, that for some reason, even though he doesn't say a word, you love him.
The three soldiers are great side characters. Quirky, dumb, funny.
I am the Great Stone Dragon. I will go forth and fetch Mulan.
Did I mention I was the Great Stone Dragon?!?!?!
