My grandfather, George Henry Marcher, was the son of William Henry Marcher.

My great-grandfather, William Henry Marcher, was born in 1826 in Camden, South Carolina. He married Lavina Maria Kellogg in 1854. William died in Los Angeles on November 11, 1901 and is buried in Rosedale Cemetery, alas without a headstone. William's father, George Henry Marcher, came to the U.S. from England in 1818 with his mother Hannah; presumably his father had already died. He married Elizabeth Wilson of Baltimore in 1819. We know of two brothers of George Henry: William and James. |

| My great-grandmother Lavina Maria Kellogg,
was born in Dix, New York on May 30, 1835. She was the daughter of George Kellogg and Hannah Skellenger and the 4th of 10 children, including: Silas Anson (1851-93), Benjamin Close (1832-34), John, (1833-1903), Sarah Close (1836-1838), Lucy Anna, (1839-?), Imla (1841-1904), Olive Adelaide (1843-1914), George (1847-1906) and Hannah Emma (1849-?) 
Lavina Maria Kellogg Marcher, 1890 Lavina Maria Kellogg and William Henry Marcher were married on March 7, 1854 in Oconomowock, Saulk County, Wisconsin. Lavina died of a stroke on November 20, 1897 in Tomah, Wisconsin. She is buried in La Grange Township Cemetery, Tomah. |
