Submission to The H.A.A. Society's First Annual Poetry Contest. Without further adieu. . . . ����`����,��,����`����,��, ����`����,��,����`����,��,����`����,��, Dear Chris, I would suppose there's nothing harder, Than writing an ode to the infamous Chris Carter, There's so many great things to recall, However, there's little time to name them all. I've got to hand it to you, Chris, you certainly have a way, Of attracting loyal viewers to The X-Files on Sunday, We've stuck by you oh so faithfully these last eight years in a row, You have certainly a special knack for making people go psycho. You've changed our complete outlook, you've made us a paranoid bunch, Heck quite too many people have described us as out to lunch, However, through these years we've grown attached to a classic Mulder hunch, And I hope you know we wouldn't trade it for a fancy car, a diamond ring and such. Chris, I hope you know when our beloved show reaches its bleak end, That within you we've found a confidante, an ally and a friend, Although you can be a Benedict Arnold teasing us with metaphors, We really know that with straight answers this show would have been a quite bore. This is from all the shippers who have searched relentlessly for that spark; that shining light, Looking for a glimpse of UST every Sunday night, Perhaps shippers have been the most obsessed just waiting for that kiss, Which would send us and our favorite characters into eternal bliss. This is from all the NoRomos who stood up to the shippers with all their might, Hoping for anything to keep the duo apart through perhaps an alien invasion or a fight, They've been sticking to the cold-hard fights, the mysteries, and paranormal cases, A good story is what they live for; and did I mention great alien chases? Heck why not include the fencers- who will hopefully figure out what side their on by the end of the show, I hope they've learned their lesson from Krycek- wishywashy people just have to go. Slashers as crazy as you may be I know you'd like to thank Chris too, So I'll just include you in this ode, which I hope you accept as true. The shippers and the NoRomos have tried in examining you the closest, To find exactly what feeds a Skinner-Mulder or Mulder-Krycek psychosis. Chris with your unabounding talents you have taken us on quite an exciting ride, I hope that you know you share comparability with the greats and walk within their stride, We look on to better things like an optimistic season nine, But soon, much too soon, we'll know that it'll be time to say farewell to a phenomena and give our heartfelt goodbyes.
